Lead-up issues to the milestone 200th issue!The X-Men have taken Rogue to Cable’s island nation Providence to deal with the Strain 88 virus she contracted last issue.Mystique insists on staying at her side and Iceman sticks close to Mystique. Cable has some other business to take of on his island. Lady Mastermind poses as a new psychiatrist and asks to see the "nut jobs." Cannonball and Omega Sentinal remain on the Conquistador to watch over Sabretooth. Karima ponders over the possibility of Sabretooth "accidentally" dying while he’s in the stasis chamber.Lady Mastermind finds a doctor and asks for hypno-therapy. She feels that there is something crawling around in her mind and wants to deal with it. "Inside" her mind, she finds a huge brick wall that has been put up. After breaking down the wall, she finds what seems to be herself. The other her, grows grotesque and sends her out. Lady Mastermind asks for help but then seemingly is under the control of the other being. Iceman and Mystique try to stop her from making a mess of the place. The being then appears to jump into Mystique’s body just as Cable arrives. He shoots Mystique with a gun that temporarily stops the being. The being reveals itself to be named Mummudrai. Cable shoots her several more times much to Iceman’s dismay. He says he only hit her with a concussive burst. It seems Mummudrai are what the Shi’Ar called Cassandra Nova. They are "energy lattices." Cable’s plan is to keep it scrambled long enough to get it to Emma Frost.The creature revives itself but tells Cable it’s not there to fight. It "shows" Cable and Iceman its purpose. It has come to Earth seeking telepaths to keep it safe from the "Hecatomb." Apparently it will eat the world when it gets there.
